About Planet Alcatraz

Planet Alcatraz is a Russian action-adventure RPG released in the mid-2000s under the name "Dungeon Cleaners." It was a massive cult hit in Russian-speaking countries, which eventually led it to receive a truly horrible English localization and a European release under the current title in 2009.The localization is so atrocious that it's nearly impossible to see from the English version why the game could ever have been a success. Any English speaker who had the misfortune to see it would have hated it, and lumped it together with such tasteless, tenth-rate titles as Stalin vs. Martians. But underneath that unseemly surface hides a dark, original adventure RPG with a truly vicious storyline, subverting the conventions of the Fallout-like genre by refusing to play it safe.
